In a nutshell.....

For 720p you need a resolution of at least 1280 X 720 so this falls short since it's only 1024. It's pretty close though and I bet it still looks pretty good.

It was my understanding that if a unit isn't 1280x768 native then its not true high-def. Its not displaying 720p pixel for pixel. either way "TV guy" is right. But who wants a do display high-def in 4:3 anyhow? thats the real question. lol

First, the projector can't broadcast anything.
But, this projector CAN display in HD, since it has more than 720 lines.
However, the only HD input is VGA. So if you have a PC that has a video card that can send at least 720 lines, then yes, you can watch HD.

However, if you want to display from a DVD player or a set-top, there is no compatible HD input.

The full user manual is available at:

I'm sorry to report the answer is no! D is correct is saying the 768 vertical resolution qualifies however the device does not have a component, HDMI or DVI input. In some cases projectors accept component via the 15 pin d-sub connector but this unit does not. I'm pasting in the specs below. Notice the spec for HDTV. Sorry.
HDTV: No
EDTV/480p: Yes
SDTV/480i: Yes
Component Video: Yes
Video: Yes
Digital Input: No
Computers: Yes
Display: Type:
0.9" 3LCD
