Surviving a non-HDMI receiver setup. please help?

I’m sorry to tell you, but you will not be able to exploit this 7.1 system.

    Your Current Setup.

    1. FINE

    2. FINE

    3. What I would suggest is connecting the XBox to the TV directly via HDMI, this will improve the picture quality. If the receiver has an optical port, connect the XBox to the receiver that way. If you choose this option you will have to change the audio output settings on your XBox to “digital.”

If you don’t have an optical port, keep the XBox audio connected as is, but you’ll be sacrificing digital sound for plain stereo.

    4. I don’t see why you couldn’t use a DVI to HDMI cable and hook directly into your TV, getting audio would be a problem as you know. Idealing you really need a reciever with HDMI pass through.

There should really be no problem, just bypass the receiver when you connect the mac book and connect it directly to the projector. You are going to send the audio feed from the Mac to the receiver.

    Everything else should be ok.
